Bettcher Family

This new blog is for posting genealogical research regarding the Bettcher Family.

Our Bettcher Family comes from Germany via Poland, then Bessarabia (today in Ukraine), then Dobruja (today in Romania), and finally to North Dakota.  From there we have scattered across the midwest and into western Canada.

Our oldest known Bettcher ancestor is Michael Böttcher, born 1794 in Poland.  He migrated to Bessarabia in 1816 and was a founding colonist of the the village Paris.

I've developed this site to be a place where we can share the recent research we have been working on.  Let me know your thoughts on how we can use this.  Cheers!
